The school of Clinical Medicine is housed in the College of Health Sciences. It comprises of three departments namely; Forensic Medicine, Clinical Sciences and Health Records Management which offer a wide range of courses from Certificate, Diploma, Bachelors and Masters Levels.
While there are challenges ahead, we also have great opportunities. With the University’s improvement of the laboratories, teaching facilities, and collaboration with other institutions of higher learning and research institutions, the graduate from Mount Kenya University will stand tall among the rest. The school has the facilities and highly qualified and dedicated faculty to impart critical skills to hundreds of Clinical Medicine graduates at all levels of training and those pursuing Health Records Management. This will prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead in the future of health care provision. Besides acquiring the knowledge to allow them move into the labour market confidently, our students are exposed to community service, research and extracurricular activities.
The school has enhanced its curricula over time to enable the graduates to acquire excellent theoretical and hands-on clinical training which equips our graduates with the relevant knowledge and clinical skills to cope with the dynamic field of medical practice. The curricula are reviewed regularly to ensure that the graduates are skilled, culturally competent health care professionals and researchers with an emphasis on curative as well as preventive medicine. Together, we will make a real difference in the healthcare provision to the Kenyan population and beyond.
